Abby and Rebekah’s Birthday and Wrapping up our Homeschool

Abby’s birthday was May 9th and my older daughter, Rebekah’s birthday was May 15th. For Abby’s birthday, she did not want a big party. She decided she wanted a few friends to come, eat pizza, go to the mall, and get frozen yogurt. That’s all. So that’s what we did. She told her friends not to worry about gifts, but she did get a beautiful handmade “A” to hang on her door. I think she really enjoys being with the kids she knows well and is comfortable with. She is turning into such a beautiful young woman. I hope she begins to see her “beauty” and her worth. Here are a few pictures from her party.

I never did see what that card said.

Her “A” to hang on her door. Thanks so much to Ms. Tina Howell, she handmade the letter. It is so pretty. If you would like a handmade letter like this one, check out Makenzie’s Mercantile

Pizza Hut pizza is the best!

They all decided to ride the carousel at the Barnes Crossing Mall. They’re just big kids.

Rebekah’s birthday was on May 15th, but we were in Florida. This is the second year in a row we were out of town for Rebekah’s birthday. I’m going to have to make it up to her.

This is my beautiful daughter, Rebekah. She turned 23 on the 15th. I love her so much!

Our Homeschool Wrapping Up

Abby and I sat down yesterday to see what she needed to complete to wrap-up her 6th grade year. We have decided that this is what she needs to finish:

May 21, 2013 127

School of Tomorrow English. She has 3 1/2 English PACES to complete. I really like the English PACES. They are very comprehensive and use diagramming, which I love.

May 21, 2013 128

She only has the Math PACE she is working on and this one to complete.

May 21, 2013 129

We decided that she will do one more book study. She picked “Heidi” and we will be using PACES for this book.

May 21, 2013 130

Apologia, Exploring Creation with Zoology I. We will finish her science book. This is another curriculum that I really enjoy. It is Faith based and immerses the child in the subject.

May 21, 2013 131

The Mystery of History. We will be completing half of this book. Another great curriculum. I love that Ms. Hobar, the author, puts Biblical history right alongside World history. It really opens your eyes to what was happening during those Bible stories we have heard all our lives. It’s great!

My next post will be some pictures of our Disney trip.

Have a great week!
